FILMING FOR “NAPALM.” IN 2019.

DOWNTOWN, WASHINGTON, D.C.

Born in 1987, Adam Turrisi is a proud Cancer Survivor who got his creative start in the Fifth grade by having his poem “Hunting” published in a book. From there, he did the Comic Strip section for his Middle School newspaper.

In between Middle School and High School, Turrisi started Skateboarding. Soon enough, him and his friends started to document each other with whatever video camera they could get their hands on for fun. Turrisi happened to be the best/most passionate filmer in the crew, and after seeing how he could make his friends look behind the camera with his unique angles, he started taking filming more seriously.

Turrisi started Green Frog Entertainment in the Winter of 2005. Starting out with music video mash-ups to strengthen his editing skills, he soon gained access to a Panasonic Handycam, where he could edit his own visuals. Taping on the fisheye lens to the Handycam for mounting was normal back in those days in order to create video posts that appeared on Adam Turrisi’s Video Notes, a blog he started running in 2005.

After numerous independent montages with the Handycam, Turrisi got his first Sony VX1000 Video Camera and started doing video work for Convoy Skateboards, the longest-running D.I.Y. skate company in the DMV area. He created Commercials, Events, Promotional Videos and other content for the company.

In 2009, Turrisi released his first full-length skate film “The Thriller,” which would be the first project underneath the Green Frog Films umbrella.

In 2011, Turrisi got experience working on a Reality TV show as an Assistant Director Of Photography/Personal Assistant to the Director. That same year, he released the first promotional video for Convoy Skateboards entitled “Convoyage.”

In 2012, Turrisi was hired by Fall Properties to produce a video. He made the video about the area where the company is from and serves it’s clients; Falls Church, VA. His services were asked for because his style/look was “different, but attractive.”

In 2013, Convoy Skateboards threw their first contest in four years. Turrisi picked up where he left off on the last contest in 2009 by operating the camera and editing the piece which was called “The A-Frame Challenge.”

2014 was a big transitional year for Turrisi, as the second skate film from Green Frog Films entitled “Kids In A Candy City“ premiered in Washington, D.C. and Virginia on April 20th. The day after the film premiered, he drove out to Rosslyn, VA. to start shooting right away on a project for McEnearney Associates, INC. REALTORS. After that, he worked once again with Convoy Skateboards for Stephen Jefferson’s Signature Model Board Commercial, which was released in the Summer. In the Fall of 2014, Convoy Skateboards employed Turrisi when they returned to the contest circuit a year later with “The A-Frame Challenge Round II.

In July 2014, Turrisi became the Manager of Fairfax Surf Shop, where he spent a lot of time focusing on the business side of where his roots are and giving back to what gave him so much. After spending a lot of time, focus and energy operating his hometown skate shop, Turrisi left the retail world to pursue his true love of filmmaking as a career.

In Spring 2020, Turrisi released his third skate film underneath Green Frog Films entitled “NAPALM.

He is currently residing in the Washington, D.C. area and is 35 years old.
